Sacrificial Giving

The Scriptural Funding Campaign will focus on the concept of sacrificial giving instead of spare giving, or just giving out of abundance. We live in a world where we are bombarded with enticements to satisfy our selfish desires, and the idea of giving at a level which is sacrificial is new territory for most people. It takes a major leap to go from spare giving to sacrificial giving. Giving at this level must be motivated – it cannot be required, and will not be reached by the normal requests and suggestions heard in most churches. People usually need a format to help them work through these issues.

In TLC's Ministry approach, every family makes its own decisions about giving. To help families in this process, we encourage them to walk through our "Personal Stewardship Journey" (both individually and as a family) to a sacrificial commitment. This journey will help the church people:

To catch the church's vision and embrace it as their own;

To develop a strong sense of ownership and mission towards their church's project;

To address stewardship issues where their hearts will be changed;

To be motivated by heaven's highest values;

To become involved at an increased level;

To give as they ought to and because they want to; and

To enjoy the journey of it all.

We purposefully design and build the elements into every campaign that will create the best circumstances for God to work in the human heart. An ideal time for this to occur is when a church undergoes improvements to their facilities.
