Coming originally from New Brunswick, Canada, Dr. Hallett came to faith in Christ in 1962 at the age of 15, was called to the ministry a few months later, and started preaching as pulpit supply later that year at the age of 16. He has been involved in ministry ever since as pastor, evangelist, and church consultant. His ministry has impacted churches in nearly every state of the U.S.A., as well as in other countries.
His formal ministerial training has included Kingswood University in Sussex, New Brunswick (Ministerial Diploma), Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana (B.A.), Anderson (Indiana) School of Theology, Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky (M.Div.), Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia (D.Min.).
In 1985, Dr. Hallett transitioned from a pastoral ministry to a church consulting ministry, leading capital campaigns in churches while working with a Texas company. He then worked with Wheaton (IL) College in their development department before founding TLC Ministries in 1990. Dr. Hallett and TLC's team of consultants have led capital campaigns and visioning events in several hundred churches ever since, and have raised over a quarter of a billion dollars to help fund and build God's Kingdom on earth.
He founded TLC Ministries with the firm conviction that every decision to give is primarily a spiritual decision before it is expressed financially – the victory must come from the heart before it ever impacts the checkbook. Thus the campaigns are designed to build the spiritual strength of the people before they decide what to give. TLC's motto of "developing more responsive stewardship disciples" is at the heart of every campaign, and is the core value of the Ministry Approach to church capital campaigns, which Dr. Hallett pioneered.
His ministerial credentials are with The Wesleyan Church (since 1966), where he is under appointment by the Indiana Central District as a Minister in Interchurch Relations. His ministry, however, has extended to nearly every theological tradition and in a wide variety of cultural settings.
His extensive background in a multitude of ministry formats, along with his wide array of experiences of guiding church leaders and their congregations to renewal and empowering ministry, have uniquely qualified him to lead churches as they seek to provide the resources to fund the building of God's Kingdom here on earth.
